A little about me…

I screamed so loud and with such ferocious intensity that the heavens shook.  Once all the air was expelled from my lungs, I collapsed upon the sand and wept... and there, on that isolated beach in the bitter cold winter, it began.

My accidental singing career rose out of a painful process of healing. Having lost my mother to cancer and my maternal grandparents within the same season, the foundation of my existence was lost and I was left alone and unable to feel. That day on the beach saw me at the brink of despair. Miraculously, the act of vocalising broke a stronghold within me and I left with a sense of hope.

Learning to use my voice again was confronting, painful and yet strangely liberating.  I attended the Victorian College of the Arts and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (The University of Melbourne) and was blessed by the instruction and guidance from the most esteemed teachers and pedagogy in Australia and indeed the world.

Since that day on the beach, I have been honoured to perform for audiences across a range of genres, both locally and abroad, on the grand opera stage and intimate performance spaces.

My heart is to use the power of the voice to 'set the captives free'.
